Within this eleven-page comic, I explore how I express and define my voice through perspective, tone and attitude.

The moon shines down on a billboard with the words "What is Voice?" written on it.

I observe my thoughts, which have taken the form of a home, lines, a hill and a power line.

Down a winding road, there are billboards for the productions "Black on the Praries" and "Strong and Free" . In the scenery, there you can see a portrait of Falen Johnson, Leah Simone-Bowen and Chenjerai Kumanyika

I push my unorganized thoughts, consisting of a train, an apartment bulding, her family, and a lamp through a small door. As it comes out the other side, it turns into paper .

My voice manifesto, written on sticky notes, by the Rideau Canal.
I will listen deeply to my guests/subject to understand what they’re/it’s expressing.
I will take note of how I feel and reflect on the direction I’m taking.
I will be honest with myself but understand when I should show it.
I will respond to and interact with my guest/subject with intent, care and without fear.
I will be open to letting things flow and allow change to guide me.

my hand draws the things that have influenced my voice. These include buses, nature, my homeland and friends

I sit under a tall pile of paper as a tree grows out of the notebook I'm going through

I stand in a crowd and begin panicing as lines cover the crowd

I stand on stage, being watched by an audience

I waltch my voice take shape as I stand outside under a street lamp.
